Jahrespreis der Acta Politica für Jürgen Maier

Die internationale Zeitschrift für Politikwissenschaft Acta Politica vergibt einmal jährlich den Preis für den besten Artikel (Best Paper Award).

Der Artikel "Hardwired to attack. Candidates’ personality traits and negative campaigning in three European countries" von Alessandro Nai, Anke Tresch und Jürgen Maier erhält den Jahrespreis für das Jahr 2022.

In ihrer Begründung hebt die Jury insbesondere folgende Aspekte des Artikels hervor:

"the scope of this paper, which connects the fields of political psychology and political communication. The argument is clear and well-structured, with the authors highlighting the relevance and importance of their findings beyond their sub-fields of study. The authors convincingly address the limitations of their methodological choices (self-reported negativity and self-reported personality traits). Overall, the jury agreed this was a very well-executed paper. The jury praises the authors' research agenda on negative campaigning which, by going beyond the US, makes a significant contribution to the political science discipline."
